This is my 1st game and 1st game jam I have used some Ai for menu background generation but because I couldn't make a good one my self and It was taking a long time so, Here is my game about.

My Game: Inferno Arena

I am building an action-packed 3D hack-and-slash game called Inferno Arena. It is heavily inspired by the progression style of Solo Leveling.

In my game, you play as a sword-wielding warrior who must fight through intense arenas, battling waves of different monsters like Goblins, Vampires, Mutants, Nightshades, and Warroks. As you defeat them, some enemies drop power-ups, and a magical portal opens up to teleport you to the next stage.

I've designed the game to feature four distinct "elemental" worlds for the player to conquer:

  • A cold, icey level
  • A hot, Fiery level
  • A rough, Stony level
  • A breezy, Windy level

I wanted the combat to feel weighty and impactful, so I made sure you can run around, jump, and unleash devastating melee combos that physically knock back and stagger enemies. The game also features a fully working options menu with volume controls and background soundscapes that change depending on which elemental world you are currently standing in. I am building the entire project using the Godot Engine.

Where I Got My Assets

As a solo developer, I pieced together the parts of my game using some of the best free community resources available online:

  • Characters and Animations: All of my 3D character models (both the player and the monsters) and their movements come from Mixamo. This is where I got all the jump attacks, sword combos, walking cycles, and reaction animations.
  • Ground Textures: The high-quality textures that make the ground look like realistic ice, stone, and cracked fiery dirt come from free texture libraries like Poly Haven and AmbientCG. They provide materials that make the surfaces react realistically to the game's lighting.
  • Sound Effects and Background Noise: The audio in my project—like the monster death sounds, sword impacts, footsteps, and the atmospheric wind or fire noise—come from community-driven audio websites like Freesound.org and Pixabay Audio, using clips created by artists like dragon-studiouniversfield, and freesound_community.
